I so agree with you on this! I actually tried one on our last trip to the jungles and guess what, this one was beeping near my own luggage. We didn't open it but somehow managed to shut it down.
Tried a hidden camera detector at my Airbnb and now I’m not sure if I feel safer or dumber
Hi everyone! I'm excited to be part of this newly developing forum.
So I picked up one of those RF hidden camera detectors before a recent trip (one of the ones that claims to detect wireless signals). Used it in my Airbnb and… it started going nuts near a smoke detector 😅. But when I took it apart (because of course I did), it was just a cheap battery-powered detector with no camera.
Made me wonder how much of this tech is legit and how much is just giving you a false sense of control. A lot of these devices seem to light up for anything remotely electronic, which… sure, but doesn’t help much when literally everything these days is "remotely electronic."
Anyone else actually tested one of these with a known hidden cam? Or is this all just airport-novel-tier paranoia with a $40 Amazon price tag?

You probably have your answer man lol
I prefer the traditional way. Just check the usual suspects, like smoke detectors, wall clocks, air purifiers, picture frames, stuffed animals, even charger plugs. Basically, assume everything in the room is spying on you unless it's bolted down and hates you.
@brad_mt yeah, I should't probably freak out as I'm usually not doing anything that would cause any public interest anyway haha
