Ah yes, "available" in the same way unicorns are available. Technically out there, just not in your backyard. Quantum computing feels like the Schrödinger's Cat of tech, simultaneously revolutionary and unusable until you open the funding box. I’ll believe it's mainstream when I can quantum-flip a pancake recipe on my smartwatch. Until then, it's just fancy entanglement between hype and hope.
Quantum computers are always "10 years away" but hey, so was fusion, and now that’s real 🤷♂️
I’ve been hearing about quantum supremacy and qubits for years now, but I still can’t download a quantum app on my phone—let alone stroll into Best Buy and pick up a quantum laptop. Meanwhile, IBM and Google keep making headlines with yearly milestones, and startups are out here hyping up “commercial quantum” access like it’s already mainstream… as long as you’ve got a few million to spare and run a research lab. 😂
So, what does “available” even mean at this point? Are we talking cloud access? Something you can actually buy? Or does “available” just mean someone somewhere can use it for something?
